No, in fact it actually prevents it. It specifically requires that only the information necessary to identify the buyer for purposes of a background check be submitted on the Dealer's Record of Sale Form (DROS) for rifles and shotguns. No information about the rifle or shotgun being purchased is included on the form and both the State Department of Justice and local law enforcement agencies are required by law to destroy the form, without keeping any information from it, within five days after the background check is completed. Handgun sales and transfers, however, except for antiques (any firearm produced in or before 1898) are registered.
