You are legally permitted to have your "assault weapon" at your residence or business or property, at licensed target ranges and shooting clubs, at specified events and educational activities, on private property with the owner's permission, or on public lands with the administering public agency's permission. A special use permit from the Department of Justice is necessary for possession or use at any other location. To date, the Department has not issued any special use permits to individuals. |
