CRIMINAL ALIENS PDF Print E-mail

I am not an anti-immigration fanatic. In fact, I have no problem w/ illegal immigration per se – no problem w/ ORDINARY immigrants. In contrast, I have a big problem w/ immigration by criminals.

The great majority of illegals are decent people who cme to this country to work and support their families. This is exactly what you and I would do were we in the same situation. Unfortunately, intermixed with these are some criminal immigrants: robbers, burglars, rapists, child molesters, etc.

At the same time America is beset by many irresponsible politicians who encourage illegal immigration by enacting "sanctuary" laws and ordering their cities or counties not to inform INS when they arrest a criminal immigrant for robbery, burglary or whatever.

To all this I offer a simple solution which I suggest should be applied to lots of other problems: Lawyers! Enact a federal law making each politician who voted for such sanctuary laws PERSONALLY liable to anyone harmed as a result of criminal activity by an illegal alien w/in the city. Note that the city is not liable, the politician is.

If irresponsible politicians had to pay for the folly they inflict on everyone else, I predict sanctuary laws would be repealed almost instantly.

I reckon this is akin to having the politicians who voted for Obamacare eat from the same trough.
It ain't gonna happen...

I would have to disagree. At some point the law needs to be abstracted from the lawmaker in order allow for honest error by people with good intentions.

Or taken to flipped reality should we also hold every lawyer, where they be in private practice or not, personally responsible for every person they represent. What a minute! Maybe we really could "Kill all the Lawyers!" if that were possible.

In some way I do agree with you. There should be a price to pay by politicians who intentionally ignore valuable and pertinent information in order to serve self interests at the expense of standing law and the overall public good. Something more than just the fear of being ignored int he ballot box. Something more than a simple censure. But not so far as to make each and every personal choice and and constituent directive result in a courtroom sword at the politician's neck.

ThanX for the comments, look forward to reading them each Friday. A regular guest on the Show put together 10 questions to send out to politicians to answer on "gun right"..try as I may I cannot fit it in this box. But he too suggests "holding their feet to the fire".
